I want a tubeway system like the one in the comic. Lounging in a comfortable seat inside an evacuated transparent tube while the landscape zips past would be fun.
I say this with full understanding of the irony that I haven't taken public transit since I was in college. Although, if public transit swept me off to vast science fiction vistas I'm pretty sure I'd take it.
