(Jon sez:) I'm not going to comment on this page of the comic because I don't want to spoil the suspense. So, on to big science! NASA administrators have decided to refurbish the Hubble Space Telescope so it should last several more years. The uproar had been deafening when suggestions were floated that the Hubble would be allowed to shut down and deorbit. Hubble has frankly been one of the most successful scientific instruments ever built - even if it had developed no useful science (although it certainly did!), it would have been successful because of many images that excited people about science. Speaking of big science, may I direct your attention to the large robot who made a Halloween cameo in the webcomic whose homepage is over here? |
(Mark sez:) Oh, I expect we can all guess what's about to happen. Teh comic linkage: I'm both impressed and sad to report that Concerned: The Half-Life and Death of Gordon Frohman has ended, completing its story after around 202 episodes. And, it's also been approximately forever since I linked to the keen sci-fi webcomic Storm Corps, which I'm pleased to note is still going strong and is now on page eleventy-million. Check it out! |
