An example is lasers that can shoot through planets, but can't be used to set a level line or measure the distance to the Moon. Any technology eventually gets used for a multitude of things...although not always the way the inventor intended. Pretty much all of us have used a screwdriver as a crowbar, or a wrench as a hammer, at one time or another. It's the same with any other technology or tool. Even, presumably, weird Martian hypertech. |
