If you have a ham radio or a police scanner, you will shortly be able to listen in on the world's newest and weirdest satellite, an empty space suit fitted with extra batteries and transmitting a short message. It should last two or four days, so if you have a way to listen in, do it soon after the suit is launched on February third. This is like something out of the golden age of science fiction. One can imagine a Heinlein or Asimov character solving a problem by using a space suit as a radio beacon. |
