Rocco and Greta are sitting in an Automat, which is a semi-automated restaurant that was popular a few decades ago. One would drop coins into a slot and receive a food item in return, sort of like a very large vending machine which served roast beef. I ate in one when I was young, during a family trip into Philadelpia some time in the mid-Seventies. I always thought that Automats were slightly surreal.
