(Jon sez:) In the first draft of this scene, there was a long explanation of how bad cameras could fail to pick up a hologram. Frankly, it was both flawed in science and immaterial to the plot, so I axed it. If the physics professor who taught me optics in college could see it, he would rise from his grave and strike me dead. |
(Mark sez:) And so heroes and villains meet face to face at last! Well, sort of. For my part, in the first draft of this scene I had that sixteen-page Martian hot springs sequence we were going to do back in Chapter 3, but I decided it just got in the way of the script. I'm sure everyone would agree this layout is better. The recorded conversation between Dr. Haas and Dr. Juruna took place waaaay back on Page 132. As for Mars, the planetary gestalt last spoke up on Page 202, when it spilled the beans on Benjamin's mad scientist condition. As is usually the case whenever Mars gets chatty, one can expect that Benjamin's life is about to get more complicated in a brand new and entirely unforeseen way. |
