Benjamin is having what we'll call a "They Should Have Sent a Poet" moment,
which refers to the line spoken by the character Ellie Arroway in the movie
Contact when speaking of
something so wonderful she couldn't decribe it.
On the science front, I was thinking of mentioning the fossil sea possibly
found on Mars, and reader Mikkel Kjaer Jensen was kind enough to send us a
link which
describes it. The area which may contain a frozen sea is 800 by 900
kilometers (500 by 560 miles), and its depth will be unknown until the Mars
Express fires up its MARSIS instrument. It might be hundreds of meters deep
- although I'll freely admit that's wishful thinking on my part.

Sorry about the delay; hope the wait was worth it. I'd like to promise it won't happen again for a while, but... um. Work pressures are turning that into a tricky promise to make. Well, we'll do our best, how's that?
Some links today:
- Here's a higher-res photograph of that "frozen sea" on Mars.
- Destroying the Earth is not for dilettantes. Listen to the man!
- Oh, and hey! Looks like the fourth album from Micronaut is out! These guys are amazing and were pretty much my introduction to the Chicago electronic music scene. Don't take my word for it -- no, wait, do take my word for it.
