(Jon sez:) Rule One: Always carry a second gun. Rule Two: Never hide behind a flimsy table. Today I'm going to recommend that you go outside some time during the night and look up. If you go out at midnight, you'll see a bright ruddy star near the zenith, a star that doesn't twinkle or flicker. This is Mars, which is currently at opposition. This means that the Earth could be thought of as being on a straight line between the Sun and Mars. If you can't go out at midnight, you can find Mars in the sky pretty much any time between sunset and sunrise. It's just not going to be at zenith. Mars is currently as close to us as it's going to be until June of 2018. It'll be relatively close for the next couple of weeks. |
(Mark sez:) So that's why I put so much detail into Page 320. I needed all those props to be around when the shooting started. This has been your exciting Behind the Scenes Comic Moment. Self-promotion dept.: I forgot to mention last time that Planetsiders, my eminently average webcomic about the massively-multiplayer game Planetside, has also been updated recently. |
