(Jon sez:) I thought hard about how much exposition to put into this page. Too much, and it becomes a dissertation on network security. Too little, and the entire plot flies over the heads of my readers who don't eat and breathe computer networking. I was able to finish the script when I put the exposition into the form of give-and-take between Juruna (who is playing dumb) and Caprice (who is prompting Juruna to talk). I sometimes feel like the last technically-oriented person in the world who hasn't gone over to wireless. I even installed in-the-wall network cable between my home office and my wife's home office so my LAN can be completely wired. Partly it's because of concerns about security, and partly it's cost. A wired network card is ridiculously cheap - especially to someone like me, who still remembers the days of five hundred dollar network cards. (Token ring cards. Slow token ring cards. Uphill. Both ways. In the snow!) |
(Mark sez:) Wait, Dr. Juruna wasn't wearing her glasses last page, what's going on? Actually, she has 20/20 vision and just wears the pince-nez for effect. Keep an eye out for Sunday's update when we'll upload a keen new fan art! P.S. Squeeeeee! |
