(Jon sez:) 1) Quasi-sentient (Q-S) nanotech has been referred to once before, and Benjamin reacted to its mention rather forcefully at the time. It's illegal off Mars, although no other information has been divulged about it at this time. I can't give away all the mysteries at once. 2) Never tell a seven-year-old that she can use an etching kit to decorate your new gun. |
(Mark sez:) Oh yeah? You say no to that face. Go on. Yeah, I didn't think so. Check it out, she even signed her name (in Chinese, above the trigger guard and below the rainbows and hearts, and man if I'm going to write a weirder sentence than that at any point this year I'm certainly looking forward to seeing what it is.) Also note that Benjamin has carefully ensured that the weapon was not loaded (viz. the lack of a flechette clip in back) before testing it out, and keeps his finger away from the trigger at all times.
