It's kind of hard to plot and write a story in which one of the characters
doesn't laugh for one hundred and forty pages.
Of course, I could have the problem Peter Jackson, the producer of the
Lord of the Rings movies, bemoaned when he said, "Let me tell you, to
have your villain be a flaming eyeball for three whole movies is a difficult
thing."

Although you could say Dr. Haas is at least a little bit flaming. ZING! Thank you!
I will just add that drawing a sincere burst of laughter, as in Panel 1, is a very, very hard thing to do.
Also, you may use the awkward gutter at the bottom of today's comic to take notes in if you wish. #2 pencils are provided at the door.
