(Jon sez:) Chapter Three starts with a bang... In an email that arrived while I was in Baltimore, reader Tyler Elkink said that our comic contains "in-your-face adventurism." As one of my favorite movies is Raiders of the Lost Ark, the definitive in-your-face adventure movie, I consider Tyler's comments high praise. Also while we were on hiatus, Jen E. sent a very nifty piece of artwork that now has pride of place on our extras and fan art page. Cool. |
(Mark sez:) Please bear with me for a few days while I try out some different artistic styles. I'm not hugely happy with the overdone Photoshoppery towards the end of last chapter, so I'm going to try out more hand-drawn effects for a little while and see if I can get the hang of them. The Martian sky is now purple and pink instead of pink and blue. A mysterious figure known only as Simon emailed to point out that sure, the sky might be pink now, but once Mars has been terraformed and has an active water cycle most of the fine dust that makes it that color will be precipitated out of the sky. As a further note, the Martian oceans would not be that lovely deep purple color if they didn't have a purple sky to reflect. |
