One of the radio stations here in Philadelphia changed format a little while ago and began playing music from my high school and college days. (This would be the 1980s. You know... the Stone Age.) The new station is, I suspect, a sort of gateway drug on the path from top-forty radio to oldies stations.
It's not much of a step from there to considering the Beatles to be classical music.

Oh, yeah. Remember the good old 1980s, when things were so uncomplicated? Sometimes I wish I could go back there again, and everything would be the same. Go figure, huh?
Anyhoo, I note that Benjamin's taste in music essentially obeys the Science Fiction Law of Threes. (As in, "For lunch we're serving chicken, mashed potatoes, and Betelgeusean laser squash" or "I'm familiar with all the great philosophers -- Socrates, Descartes, Xaxxix'x of Denobulon IV.") That's all I really wanted to do, mention that tidbit. Oh, and then run away really fast.
