The doors into stairwells in large buildings are usually made of metal, because metal doors plus concrete-block walls equals a fire-resistant place people can use to retreat from a fire. I've installed those doors. They're heavy.

Also, I want to go on the record to say that pages like this make me envy Mark's artistic talents.
